Local 3679: Guardians of Victoria
Established in 1995 to best represent the interest of Victoria Firefighters and our community. Local 3679 represents 100+ firefighters who protect and serve the city of Victoria and Victoria county.
We represent and support the interests of Victoria firefighters who serve our community.
We will support their working conditions, benefits, and overall well-being. This includes negotiating fair wages, advocating for improved safety standards, and providing support for firefighter families.
Our History
1869
Citizens formed a bucket brigade after a series of serious fires
1871
The first hand-operated fire pump was put into service
1910
The city began to develop a professional department
1930
The department was fully motorized with a chief's car, two combination pumper/hose trucks, and a straight hose truck
1995
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and firefighters were merged into a single unit
1995
Victoria firefighters established Local 3679 and since then have continuously ensured the interest of its members.

This entails prioritizing the safety and well-being of both the public and firefighters themselves while also ensuring that firefighters have the necessary resources and support to effectively carry out their duties and respond to emergencies.
